Washington native Carry Ann made a splash in the country music world with her original tune "I Don't Do Windows'". She released this self titled debut indy in 1997. It was re-released later in 2000 on Orchard Records. Carry Ann seemed to be headed for the big-time, but I`m not sure what ever happened to her.
Here is a cool cd from E.F. Williams. I thought this cd was going to be horrible! I HATE POETRY! BUT the spoken word portion of this disc is actually pretty dope. E.F. paints a picture of gritty, Brooklyn street life. Topics range from love to crack to depression and struggle. As corny as it sounds, I can almost picture myself in NY in the late 80`s, trying to survive the ghetto. Half of the cd features spoken word type poetry (sorry I know nothing about poetry). The other half of the cd is filled with soul filled love songs, all of which have some pretty nice production.
Here is a killer hard rock cd from a great hard rockin` Seattle band. This was released in 1998 on Psyco Messiah Productions. Tydysky reminds me of other 80's hard rock bands from Seattle, like TKO, and Culprit. Singer Chris Complita sounds a lot like Glenn Danzig.
Kickass indy rock from the Seattle band "Stickman Stepchild". I believe this is their only release. The band was actually from Missoula, Montana, but the guys went to school in Seattle, at the University of Washington. They dropped this indy gem back in 1994. The cd features 12 rockin` tracks.
The 2 man band consisted of members: Josh Cain, and Steve Milburn.
Here`s another one from Seattle`s own "Before Christ". This is their debut, released independently in 1995. You can find their demo here at insanelyraremuisc!
