KINGPIN HAYES - Quit Your Day Job - 2002 Seattle, WA - POWER POP - EMO

KPH is actually a Pullman, Washington band they formed while the members were in college, at Washington State University. They later left their growing fan base, and moved back to Seattle, where they built another following. KPH plays a cool mix of Emo and Power Pop. This is their second release, a follow up to their first, which was the "Spank" EP. The group later released a third EP titled "Dynomite Split", which was released in 2003. The band has since broken up.

Released in 1985 this was Yutaka Ozaki`s fourth album. Ozaki put out a lot of great music before his tragic death in 1992. I actually just watched a TV show about his life, and his death. It was a very sad story, I believe like a lot of people that he was murdered.

Here is a classic from Seattle`s "2NU". They were a great band that made alot of noise in the Seattle area, with their hit song "Ponderous". I believe this version of the cd is VERY hard to find. This was released by the band, before they were on Atlantic Records.

This is a great reggae cd from the Long Beach, California group "Local Culture". This is the original 2001 release. The cd was re-released in 2004.

This is the TAPE ONLY debut from Coquitlam, British Columbia`s "The Clumsy Lovers". It was released in 1993 independently by the band. They later went on to be signed by Nettwerk Music Group. They released at least 8 more albums, but I don`t believe they have put anything out since 2009, and I am not sure if they are still together.

Here is an awesome tape from Iowa`s "The Deputy Dawg Band". These guys were a great band that had a huge following, because of their fun and wild shows. They were recently inducted into the Iowa Music Hall Of Fame. They still do reunion shows every 5 years or so, and still have a lot of people who love the band.

This was never released on cd, it is VERY hard to find!

This cd kicks ass. Big Bad was one of my favorite Seattle bands. They later changed their name to "Overspeedtrip". Here`s a great cd from the dutch group "The Deep River Quartet". They play everything from gospel, swing, jazz, and more. This one was released in 1985.

From the little bit of information I have found, he is a street performer who has played anywhere from Anacortes, WA to Anaheim, CA, as well as for senators and congressmen.

Here is a cool Christian tape, from Ric and Cherie Gordon, from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I don`t have a whole lot of information on these guys. I did find some newspaper articles online about the duo, the articles were from 1976. This tape was released in 1986, so they were making music for at least a decade.

Here is a great cassette from Sammy Hall, the legendary Christian Contemporary artist. He has a huge music catalog, and before going solo he was a member of the bands "The MorLoks", "The Birdwatchers", "Flyte", and more.

Unfortunately Sammy passed away in 2013 from cancer. I`m not sure what year this one was released, but I am thinking late 70`s but more likely early 80`s.

STRESS - This Ain`t No Time To Be Doubtful - 1990 San Mateo, CA - "TYPE A" VERY RARE DEMO

Here is a crazy tape! It is the demo by the band "Stress", BUT this one has a different tracklist, AND the bands name is taped over on the artwork, with the name "Type A". I am assuming the band changed their name. The demo under the name "Stress" has the songs "Vibin`" and "Fuck Authority", but on this demo, those songs were replaced by "Barfly", and "Stress Reduction".

The original demo is hard enough to find! This is crazy rare!

I love this band! Released on FUBAR Records in 1995, these guys rock! I am a huge Seattle grunge/metal fan, and I hadn`t heard of these guys. They did alot of shows with the band "Bucket" back in the day. I don`t know too much about them, but they were from Tacoma, and they have that classic Seattle sound! If you like bands like Villan, Bucket, AIC, and other more edgy/hardcore grunge bands, you will dig this!

Here is a great rock cd from Vertigo, they were a great band from Phoenix, Arizona. Members of the band were, Brendon Fray - Vocals, Scott Nelson - guitars, Stan Kochman - Bass, and Mike Carnicom - drums.
I don`t know a whole lot about the band, other than the guitarist Scott Nelson is now a Seattle resident, and plays in the band 93 Octane.
