NEXT EXIT - Metropolitan West (1983 Seattle, WA) VARIANT CAUSE - NEW WAVE - POST PUNK

Next Exit was formed in Spokane, Washington. They moved to Seattle and became Variant Cause in 1985. They released this one in 1983 on KDT Records, their song "Static Cling" was featured on the Seattle Syndrome II compilation. They made strange music with bird noises, odd guitar sounds, weird sound effects, and melancholy lyrics like other new wave bands of the era. They didn't release this one on cd, but it did make it to LP. I am not sure if they made any other music as Next Exit, or what they did as "Variant Cause", but I think they were great on this one!

BALTIMORA / PATRICK COWLEY & LINDA IMPERIAL - Tarzan Boy / Die Hard Lover (12 Inch Classics) Rare OOP

Here is a great 2 track cd from the "12 Inch On CD" series from Unidisc. This one features Baltimora`s "Tarzan Boy" and Patrick Cowley and Linda Imperial on "Die Hard Lover". Baltimora released "Tarzan Boy" in 1985. Cowley and Imperial later released "Die Hard Lover" in 1988, both were big hits. Don`t miss your chance to get a hold of this one. Just about anything on the "12 Inch on CD" series is hard to get!

U FREE - Sliding Wheels Talisman (1997 Moscow, Russia) Synthpop - New Wave

Here is a great cd from one of Russia`s few Synthpop/New Wave artists who record in English. It was released in 1997 on Mag Records. Unfortunately, not only is it VERY hard to get, it is the only release from U Free.

DE PRESS - Groj Skrzypko Groj - 1994 Norway/Poland - ALT. ROCK - NEW WAVE

These guys were founded in 1980 in Oslo, Norway and later moved to Poland. I believe they are still active. They were one of Norway`s biggest New Wave band. They actually split up around 1982 and got back together in 1995.

Legendary Seattle "punk" band. These guys originally came from Montana, but had to move to Seattle because they weren`t really accepted by the conservative people in Montana. Of course, they fit right in here, and put on strange but entertaining shows.


They put this cd out on their own. It is a home made cd, made by the band, and impossible to find!

MOONLIFE - Over You - "DEMO" - 2000 San Francisco,CA - ELECTRO - NEW WAVE - RARE OOP

SUPER RARE "DEMO" from the Electro - New Wave band Moonlife. If you enjoy bands like Depeche Mode or the Beloved, you will love Moonlife. The band features vocalist/keyboardist/guitarist Claudio Tinnirello and keyboardist/bassist Mark Schmieder, they made this demo, and followed it with their first full length album, Across the Night, in 2001. It received airplay on 90 college-radio stations in the U.S., and landed in the Top 10 in big markets New York and New Jersey. In 2003 they released Reach The Stars, their second album. Songs from this album went on to appear in an independent movie as well as a video game.

THE EFFECT - Self Titled - 1983 Enigma Records - ULTRA RARE - TAPE ONLY - NEW WAVE - SYNTH

An ultra rare release from "The Effect", on Enigma Records. This was released in 1983, yet is nowhere to be found in the label`s catalog. They did release the EP, "American Design" the same year, which features the same tracks as the ones featured on this tape. Still this is a piece of early Enigma Records history, and is insanelyrare!

Here is a classic Christian / New Wave tape only release from the Crystal City Rockers. I am pretty sure it was released in 1983. As far as I know they only released 2 cassettes. The first one was self titled, then later came "Jump!". The Crystal City Rockers were a Seattle based band formed in 1981 playing power pop gospel music in cities, parks, churches, schools, youth groups and even a boxing ring.
