ROCK CITY ANGELS - Self Titled (1989 South FL.) JOHNNY DEPP - BOBBY DURANGO

Here is an awesome album from Rock City Angels. It features 11 rockin' tracks. It was released on New Renaissance Records, and was a limited release. This one is numbered 1369. This one is hard to find!

Rock City Angels were formed from the hit err of the punk band The Abusers. They once had Hollywood great Johnny Depp playing guitar for them, right before he landed the gig on 21 Jump Street.

These guys rocked South Florida, and built a huge following. They signed a major label deal, but like other hair bands, the grunge movent came along and took the wind out of their sails.

The eventually broke up, but reunited in 2021 to drop a new album.

SLOTH - 22 (1997 Rancho Cucamonga, CA)

Sloth was a California band, they formed in 1995 and made a few demos, then they recorded this one in 1997. It is produced by John Avila of Oingo Boingo. This album caught on and was a hot item at the underground trading post. The band decided to enter this cd in a nationwide contest sponsored by Guitar Center, Musicians Institute and Disc Makers and they won, beating several thousand competitors. They have since made at least 2 more albums. I`m not sure if they are still together.

BLINDSPOT - Island (1994 Kent, WA) METAL - RARE OOP

Here is an amazing metal cd from "Blindspot" a lesser known, but awesome band from Kent, Washington. It was released in 1994 on Killjoy Records. They were a great 3 piece band that sounded to me like the band Armored Saint. It features 8 kick ass rockin` songs. I have already blogged their 1995 release "Suit Yourself", so check that out too!

EINSTEIN`S ATTIC - Sound And Fury (1993 Daytona, FL) HARD ROCK / METAL

Here is an awesome cd from the Daytona, Florida band "Einstein`s Attic". It was released in 1993 on Green Vine Records. The cd features 11 tracks. You can find their two biggest songs "Last One" and "Remember When" on YouTube and other random sites, other than that there isn`t a whole lot of info about these guys out there, which is surprising to me, because they were pretty good and seem to have had a pretty strong following. SUPERVILLAIN - Leviathan (1998 Vancouver, WA) HARD ROCK

Next up is "Leviathan", a 3 track cd from the Vancouver, Washington hard rock band "Supervillain". Released by the band in 1998, I`m not sure if this was a debut, or a demo. Either way it`s pretty good. Heavy rock, almost metal sounding. The 3 songs on the cd are "Leviathan", "Terminator", and "10 Ton Gorilla". Not much information can be found on these guys, except for the "Produced by Aston Case & Supervillain" on the back cover. SECOND WIND - This Old Man (2000 Shelton, WA) AOR - Rock

Second Wind is Mikey Les Taylor, Mike Allegri, and Ross Rutlege. They released this lesser known gem in 2000. 15 tracks of stripped down rock n roll. It's got a couple ballads, as well as a couple instrumentals. It was really refreshing to hear some straight ahead rock n roll, when the rock being released at that time was girly and lame.

LAST NERVE - Same Difference (1999 Spokane, WA) Metal - Hard Rock - RARE OOP

Here is a great cd from "Last Nerve", a metal band from Spokane, Washington.

They released this one in 1999. They went on to change the name of the band to "Soulwounds", but I don't know if they ever released anything else.

Here is a great female fronted rock band from Cali. I don`t have much info on the band. I know the cd was recorded at The Jungle Room, in Glendale California. It features 14 killer tracks!

BIG BAD - Livin` A Bad Dream - 1998 Seattle, WA - HARD ROCK - OVERSPEEDTRIP

This cd kicks ass. Big Bad was one of my favorite Seattle bands. They later changed their name to "Overspeedtrip". They released two other cds that I know of, the first was "Forgiven?", which I have posted here on the blog, the other one "Fuel The Rocket" came after this one, and was released under the name of Overspeedtrip. I don`t believe they are together anymore, get their stuff while you can!

SOCK MONKEE - Intro - 1995 Tacoma, WA - GRUNGE - HARD ROCK

I love this band! Released on FUBAR Records in 1995, these guys rock! I am a huge Seattle grunge/metal fan, and I hadn`t heard of these guys. They did alot of shows with the band "Bucket" back in the day. I don`t know too much about them, but they were from Tacoma, and they have that classic Seattle sound! If you like bands like Villan, Bucket, AIC, and other more edgy/hardcore grunge bands, you will dig this!

VERTIGO - Self Titled - 1996 Phoenix, AZ - HARD ROCK - 93 OCTANE

Here is a great rock cd from Vertigo, they were a great band from Phoenix, Arizona. Members of the band were, Brendon Fray - Vocals, Scott Nelson - guitars, Stan Kochman - Bass, and Mike Carnicom - drums.
I don`t know a whole lot about the band, other than the guitarist Scott Nelson is now a Seattle resident, and plays in the band 93 Octane.

SUEDE STONE - Self Titled - 1998 Tacoma, WA - BLUESY ROCK - TODD HAYDEN - SHOTGUN BETTY

This 1998 self titled debut would be "Suede Stone`s" only release. It was put out by Tacoma`s indie label Def Ear Records. It`s a great female fronted "bluesy rock" cd.

The most notable member of Suede Stone was Todd Hayden, is now in the band "Shotgun Betty". Check them out, as well as the samples of this one, posted below!

TEA FOR TWELVE - Sundancer - 1994 - Seattle WA - AOR ROCK - RARE

This is a great rock cd outta Seattle, WA. Not exactly grunge, but they do remind me a lot of Soundgarden. They sounded much like other bands of the region and time. That isn`t a bad thing either! This is a solid cd from 1994, check it out!

MIGAS - M3 Ultra - 2000 Austin, TX - HELLTROUT - DON STEWART - JASON MORALES

Two members of Olympia, Washington`s "Helltrout", Don Stewart and Jason Morales, formed "Migas" in 1997. This, I believe was their secons self release. They went on to release at least a couple more, and still play together. Don Stewart resides in Seattle now, but gets down to Austin to work with Jason occasionally.

HUFFY - Violent - 1996 Portland, OR - FUSED - PUNISH ME OPENLY

Here is a great cd by Huffy. The band also went by the name Fused, as well as Punish Me Openly. Violent was released in 1996. They sounded a lot like early Korn stuff. I am not sure if they released any other material or not, but I believe they did. Members of Huffy are still active in the Pacific Northwest music scene.

ALIAS DOGBERRY - Conspiracy Nuts 1996 Lacey, WA - AOR - JAUGERNAUT - HURTS LIKE HELL

This Lacey, WA band consisted of Jim Johnston and Michael "Smitty" Smith. I believe this is the same Jim Johnston that played with the late 70`s band "Jaugernaut", but I am not positive. Michael Smith has played with numerous South Sound bands, and currently plays with "Hurts Like Hell", a killer blues band.

LOCAL 808 - Self Titled - 1996 Seattle, WA - HARD ROCK - DROP SIX - RARE OOP

Here is the debut from the Seattle heavy rock band "Local 808", released indie in 1996, these guys had a huge following in the Pacific Northwest, and were on the verge of big things.

Members of the band later formed the band "Drop Six", another great Seattle act!

THE BEDHEADS - Therapy - 1995 Moscow, ID - ALT. ROCK - VERY RARE - OOP

The Bedheads were founded by 3 guys who grew up together in Moscow, Idaho.

They were great, they kicked it with and played with fellow Idaho bands, including "Circle Of Knots" and "Royball".

They  formed in 1993 and were unfortunately disbanded in 1996, but not before they put out their only release, "Therapy".

An awesome female-fronted rock band from Olympia Washington.

The band features Pam Webberley on vocals. The girl can sing! Bassist Bruce Whitcomb is a legendary producer/engineer adds a real spark to the band

 Their song "Invisibke" got play on the Seattle rock station "KISW". Pam and Bruce also have another band called "Dugan Falls". I will be posting Dugan Falls` cd "Fire" very soon, so check back in,
