Yet another tape, I know little about. The group is The Four Left Pockets, and the album is Pocketful of Memories. I am not sure of the release date on this one. I am thinking 1983 to 1989, but I don`t know. The Four Left Pockets were a Christian band from Tilley, Alberta, Canada. I do know that these guys used to do local shows with the Christian group "The Softones".
Ex-Black Sabbath member (disputed by some) Jeff Fenholt released his testimony on this TAPE ONLY gem, on Messiah Records. I am not sure exactly what year this came out. It is super rare, and hard to find. Jeff`s story is amazing, and inspiring. This is a must have for any Black Sabbath fan, as well as a must have for any Christian fan.
I`m unsure of the year of release on this one, but I think early to late 80`s . It has 12 tracks, and was produced by Dan Foster. I believe it was a tape only release. Bob McGrath unfortunately passed away in 2007 of a sudden heart attack. He was a tenor, and Nancy Strand a soprano, together with pianist Joan Lundquist they did shows all over the Pacific Northwest. You may have heard Bob sing the National Anthem at Hawks, Sonics or Husky games, including the Rose Bowl. McGrath even sang with Seattle Opera and the Seattle Symphony, back in the 1960s and early 1970s. Bob partnered with Nancy Strand, for over 18 years.
Here is a very rare TAPE ONLY Christian gospel gem. Doug and Candy Gintz`s "By Special Request" from Spokane, Washington. They self released this TAPE ONLY in 1988. It has 11 great songs. I don`t know a whole lot about these guys, other than that they played the Spokane area alot back in the late 1980`s and early 1990`s.
Once again, I have come across another one that I have almost no information on. This is Vincent - No Substitute. The "Vincent" here is Vincent Doty from Martinsville, Virginia. I do know that Doty was on 1996`s "Warfare” which was recorded at the annual MorningStar Spring Conference that year. I also know that he released this in 1992 and it features 12 tracks.
Here`s a christian cd from 1996. Seattle, Washington`s "Network". It features 4 tracks. I don`t know much about this cd. It was self made by Network. It features music written by Michael Baruso, Robert Gavinsky, David L. Allen, and Dan Allen. Lyrics by Al Taylor, Michael Baruso, David L Allen, and Dan Allen. Vocals by Debbie Baruso, Paul Johns, Laurie Shaber, and Dan Allen.
Another great tape from Redeemed Records of Issaquah, Washington. I am not sure what year this was released, but I kind of think it was before 1983. 10 great songs from Larry Brown and the Revelation. Looking closer at the artwork I am sure this is the same people who were in the Redeemed Records group "Heavenbound", which I have blog posts about already. I believe that The Revelation became Heavenbound in about 1983 or so. It`s safe to say that this band is also made up of Larry and Joy Brown, and Ernie and Melba Schaer. The Schaer`s and Larry Brown were also in the Portland, Oregon group "The King`s Envoy" in the 1970`s.
Yet another tape that I don`t know much about. Kiraten Cope`s "Movin` On Up". I believe this to be a TAPE ONLY release from 1995. I believe this was recorded at the "Life Center" church in Tacoma, Washington. It features 12 tracks, and beautiful vocals.
This is a great Christian gospel album. It features 3 members of the Portland, Oregon Christian group "King`s Envoy Quartet" (Larry Brown, Ernie Schaer, and Melba Schaer), and also Larry Brown`s wife Joy Schaer Brown. I believe this was released on TAPE ONLY, in 1985 on Redeemed Records. It consists of 10 awesome tracks.
Here`s one that I don`t know much about. It is a Christian band from Spokane, Washington called "Variant" the tape is titled "The Weeping Wall". It was released in 1992 by the band.
Here is some great Christian music, from Misty Dawn, of Miltonvale, Kaansas. This was released by Mist in 1991, it was TAPE ONLY and it consists of 10 well done tracks. I don`t know much about Misty, so I`m not even sure if she ever put any other music out. She was in college, when she made this. I know she did a bunch of local shows, but I am not sure how far out her music, or music career traveled.
Here is a greta southern gospel tape from "Joint-Heirs" from Jacksonville, Florida. I believe it was only released released on cassette, in 1996.
Here`s one from the husband and wife team Rick And Gwen Shorter. They are Seventh Day Adventists and have made a bunch of music over the years. I`m not sure what year this was released, but I do see that they have an email address, so it`s gotta be mid nineties or later. It features 10 tracks of spiritual music.
Here`s a super hard to find Southern gospel cd from The Tommy Drewett Family. I`m not exactly sure what year it was released, except the it was after 1983, because that is when some of the music on the cd was written. It has 10 great tracks.
