This blog exists to reconnect people with music they thought they wouldn`t find again, or connect some with new music. That said, I try to make money. I try to hawk music. I run ads. I hope it doesn`t offend anyone. Music is #1. If I seem I`m putting no effort into posts, it`s because I have no info on it, and I want to post it, so someone can help. I want to be up front, Let me know what you think. Thanks
Mr. Clean was a funk / jazz band that dated all the way back to at least 1966. Headed by Ollie McClay, "Mr. Clean" has had a number of different members, but in 1992 at the time of this release, the band consisted of Ollie McClay, Johnny McClain, Albert (Terminator) Hobson, Jerome Biship, and Gordon Botler. At this time the band was based in Spokane, Washington. I am unable to find much information on "Mr. Clean", what I do know is that their music is pretty cool. They are kind of funk, kind of jazz.

Here is an awesome R&B / Soul cd from Tacoma Washington`s Gary Wyatt. It is a Christian cd, but is damn good. Non Christians will dig this cd too, guaranteed. Released in 1991 on Gary`s own indie label "Gold Glove Records". Gary is now a minister and runs a church. He has released many albums over the years, most of them can be purchased on his web-site, but this one is long out of print and super rare!

Here is a great cd from Greg Gardner, of N.S.W., it is an awesome cd that features the title track. The song "Steel On Wheels" won a Dolphin Award in 1995.
I personally love the song "I Do", it reminds me a lot of that Eric Clapton song "Tears In Heaven".

Fig Dish released this years before most fans caught on to them. Fig Dish gained most of their following from their 1995 major label release "That's What Love Songs Often Do", which gave the world the hits "Seeds" and "Rollover, Please". Unleash the Cracken may show a softer, more mellow side of Fig Dish, but in my opinion, it`s still a pretty killer album. The songs on this album that sound more like the Fig Dish that most fans enjoy are "Birthday Clowns" and "Pretty Karen Record"

SUPER RARE "DEMO" from the Electro - New Wave band Moonlife. If you enjoy bands like Depeche Mode or the Beloved, you will love Moonlife. The band features vocalist/keyboardist/guitarist Claudio Tinnirello and keyboardist/bassist Mark Schmieder, they made this demo, and followed it with their first full length album, Across the Night, in 2001. It received airplay on 90 college-radio stations in the U.S., and landed in the Top 10 in big markets New York and New Jersey.
In 2003 they released Reach The Stars, their second album. Songs from this album went on to appear in an independent movie as well as a video game.

ULTRA RARE, tape only release from RYZ! RYZ formed in the early 90's by cousins Eric and Gary. They had 4 different vocalists throughout the bands existence, but came together perfectly with Chris Hawkey. Hawkey is amazing on vocals, as you can hear on this release. RYZ band packed the L.A. clubs and bars, with fans that were known to drink every drop of liquor in the bar. Their success grw to where they were opening for national acts about every 2 weeks. Their first big break was opening for Kansas, after that they went on to open for Yngwie Malmsteen, Salty Dog, Bang Tango, Rhinobucket, Little Ceaser (where we were played live on world famous KNAC radio), Lizzy Borden, and a shitload of lesser known bands. Due to their large following of fans, they started to draw the attention of major labels. That is when they decided to record this tape. They actually had the chance to open a show at Gorky Park, in the former U.S.S.R., they were pumped to do the show, but unfortunately some of the members were business owners, and couldn`t get away from work. Shortly after, Gary Hallett severed a tendon in his hand while working on a machine, this was what crushed the band. They had a meeting on the night it happened and decided to cancel all of their scheduled shows, Chris Hawkey decided to move on to a group that was willing to tour, and the band parted ways. They ended up replacing Chris and Eric, which worked well, but just wasn`t the same. The band finally called it quits. Leaving behind this gem!

Now called "Overspeedtrip" these guys started out as "Big Bad". This is their 1995 debut, they followed it up with "Livin` a BigBad Dream", and a couple of other cds as "Overspeedtrip". The name of those cds slip my mind at the moment. I personally like them better when they were "BigBad".
Check out the samples below, if you like it, buy it!

I don`t know much about Joe`s Friend, the only information I could find was an article from the SF Weekly. They seemed to have a different line up in the article, which was published in 1999.
The band members were originally:
Adam S. Fenton - Vocals
Ollie Shasta - Guitars
Laura Manfredi - Bass
Rod Caccavale - Drums

Here is a super cool promo single from "Johnny P.". Released in 1989, it holds 2 versions of "Please Say You Want Me", the Lp version, and the Extended version.
The Extended Version was released nowhere else but on this promotional cd. You have to love these old promo cds singles from the major labels. A lot of them had awesome artwork that you couldn`t find anywhere else. Many had cool remixes, often produced by the hottest producers of the time.
