Young Meez is a Seattle, Washington rapper. Music has always been in his blood growing up with his grandfather and uncle being jazz entertainers. He started the rap group Hungry Click He went on to release his first album as part of the group Hungry Click entitled “Hungry” in 1999 on Hungry Records; With the hit single, Hungry and Notches. Meez put out 2 more albums, one with the Hungry Click and this here, his debut solo. It features 15 tracks and guest spots from The Hungry Click, Ric Rocc, 151, and more.
Here`s Nomad`s 2001 release "Art Of Da Griot". It has 14 fresh tracks. Nomad was an artist who moved to Seattle, from Chicago. He seemed to have more success over here in Seattle. He had a dope song “Sadistic Flow” that was on the Classic Elements compilation which featured a bunch of other legendary Seattle rappers. He released “Windy City Hustle” in 1996 which had two songs. Mr Supreme of Conception Records handled the production and Jake One appearance on the title track. Nomad released a bunch of vinyl over the years on his 360 Degree Entertainment label.
Here`s the "Straight Outta Hunter`s Point Soundtrack", a super dope cd that is full of the bay`s best underground rappers. It features 18 tracks, with music from E-40, C-Bo, Mob Figaz, 11/5, Taydaytay, Suga Bear, Guce, Mac Mall, JT Tha Bigga Figga, RBL, Hitman, and MANY more. It was released on Coast II Coast Records.
Here`s a dope cd from back in Y2K, Shock The Town was a group of four Seattle rappers: Nutty Nut, Pro Dog, Don P aka Don Pierre, and Twig. “The Last Region” has 21 tracks and was produced by Trevor TKG$ Gardner it featured guest spots from Moe B Of DMS, U.B.U. Of The Fugitives, B.A., Young Boo, Dirty Neb, Maniac, and many more. The Last Region was released by Music Ward Entertainment with Fugitive Tones Records.
Here is a great cd from 2004. This was released on Savv Records and had 17 tight tracks. Aluzjun (pronounced illusion) was a group of four guys from Seattle, Washington. The members were Big Keno, Young Swish, Lil Ace, and Kenenski. All of which can spit well. The production was done by Kutty, Mike Wingo, MAS, Steve, with features from Young Viscious, Shorty, Jay Good, Choclate, Tank, E-Dogg, Mic Strokes, and Slim One.
Here`s a super dope mixtape from the Northwest`s "Young Dynasty". This was released way back in 2006. It features 24 tight tracks. Young Dynasty was a super talented group that featured Clemm Rishad, Chanelle Ray, Nu Money, and Scorpio. They are no longer a group, but I think all of them are doing solo stuff. Clemm Rishad has really made a name for himself.
Here is a Seattle G Funk classic, released in 1998 on Triple Gold Records. It features 11 sick tracks. With production from Beezie Mack, Mike Wingo, Funk Daddy, and Mr. $ it is a perfect example of that 90`s Seattle G Funk sound. It also features guest spots from other Seattle rappers, Snook Tha Crook, 420. and Von-O.P.
Here`s a little lesser known rap cd from Treachen, a Seattle rapper. "The Month Of March" has 11 tracks and was released on Grinning Idiot Productions in 1994. Personally I like the songs "Whatcha Gonna Do" and "Legalize Drugs". I have to assume that he produce his own music, because there are no credits in the artwork to tell me otherwise. Here`s a dope 3 track "single" from Seattle`s Most Wanted. It was released by the group in 2011. It features 3 tracks (Rydin` Hard feat. Big Pheezy, 206 Anthem feat. Space, and World So Cold feat. Tramaine). Seattle`s Most Wanted is made up of the rappers Mr. Slim, Stalker, and Young EZ. I think they are some of the best rappers from the town.
Here is a classic G-funk album from Kokane. Released in 1994 on Ruthless Records, a lot of folks think this was his first release, however, he released an album under the name "Who Am I?", before Funk Upon A Rhyme, so this is really his sophomore release. This cd is super tight, it features production from Cold 187um and guest spots from Above The Lay, The Liks, and Dirty Red. It also features a tight Death Row Records diss track!
Here is a classic Ruthless Records release from 1992. P.P.C. was made up of Playa Hamm and Tweed Cadillac and DJ Quik. They came together in 1991 and soon after signed a deal with Eazy-E's Ruthless Records. Unfortunately they only had a few releases. Before inking a deal with Ruthless they released a 12" of "They Don't Know", which ended up being a bonus cut on "Paid The Cost" which is their second release.They also had a track on the Trespass Soundtrack in 1993. P.P.C. reunited in 2001 and have made music together and solo.
Here is one of my favorites from the Bay! A classic from E.P.A.'s "Chunk". Released in 1994 on Murder One Records. It features 12 dope tracks, with guest spots from super producer Sean T, Caus, D Villain, Papoose, Mob Boss, Double O, Gangsta G, and Scrib. It also features one of my all time favorite songs, track #7, "187 Skills". It is a gritty hardcore song with a classic "g-funk" beat from Sean T". This cd is almost worth buying for that song alone. The whole album is sick!
